Spring Cleaning Arrives Late

With the moving out of Brother & Co, I have decided that now is as good a time as any to get my house in order. My family has set aside a date for a garage sale, so I now have a deadline to work towards.

I started with the garage.

After going through the boxes of crap that came from my old storage shed, I set aside a bunch of stuff earmarked for the garage sale. Lots of stuff from my younger days that I no longer need. I also pitched a bunch of stuff as well.

The sad part, is that after toiling all afternoon, I'm not even close to being done. Four days off from work (including a rare weekend), and all I have to show for it is a pile of old clothes, costume jewelry, and ugly picture frames.

So if you need me, I will be in the garage.

  1. Hi, I read this all the time and never say anything so I guess I don't have a pulse normally ha

The other day somebody I evaluated (I am a SLP at a SNF) remembered working with "the older lady, about mid 50s, in the black dress" on the day I evaluated him. I am 41. Most people think I am 31. I wasn't wearing makeup that day. Evidently I REALLY need it. At least he didn't say I look like his mother.

    Good luck to your brother.

  2. Rent a dumpster. The big one with the tall sides, not the small one. Outside of holiday decorations, if you haven't opened it in the last year, out it goes. 90% of what you toss you won't miss. I've done this and need to do it again.

Joe's idea seems helpful. For more helpful suggestions on recycling and cleaning up the clutter, check out the Rent a Dumpster blog at http://blogs.dumpster.com

    Good luck!
