Nurse Follies: FYI

Just because a friend is missing out on a hum-dinger of a party because they are in the hospital, DOES NOT MEAN you take the party to them.

If you feel the need to visit, a small group is fine...maybe bring some flowers or balloons. IT IS NOT APPROPRIATE to bring your party's alcoholic trough and set it up in the CONFERENCE ROOM. If someone else had seen that spread, and assumed it belonged to the staff, we would have CNN camped out in the hospital lobby.

I can see it now, Nurses Getting Sloshed While Caring for Your Sick Mother....details at 10.

And when we tell you that you can't have your party in our hospital, don't act all surprised like this is news to you. WHAT HOSPITAL ALLOWS YOU TO HAVE DRUNKEN FRAT PARTIES ON SITE?????

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?!?!?1!?

The shallow end of the gene pool...I work there.

No. Freaking. Way! I've seen people come into their appointments while drunk (seriously - an old lady came in the other day for her 8am appointment sweating bourbon), but not actually carting booze. There are some pretty spectacular people in KC...

Or the guys who've been in accidents and want you to take their joints so they won't get busted...

Umm that would be The AWESOMEST hospital! That's what hospital!

When I need a procedure that's where I'm going.

What hospital? The one that's so full of win and awesomeness that it's well neigh impossible to squeeze patients in there, let alone nurses and the doctors' egos!
