Monday's Musings

I went to see the doctor this morning to discuss the MRI findings. Of course, I knew the findings because I took it upon myself to look up the results at work. It's my own medical record, so I can access it all I want.

At any rate, I have significant cartilage tears, and what the doctor calls "a funny looking ACL". I could go home and think about when I want surgery. I declined the thinking and asked for it to be scheduled immediately.

This living with pain and not being able to do anything fun is a bunch of bullshit. Let's get this fixed already!!

So, I am scheduled for knee surgery number five at the end of this month. It's only a scope, but I'm hinging my hopes on the simplest of procedures. I don't want that other surgery he was talking about.

On my way home, I called Indy to commiserate, and he didn't recognize me on the phone. Instead, calling me someone else's name, or rather, pet name. He blamed it on Ambien. I called bullshit on the lame Ambien excuse.

Me: Who's Princess??
Indy: It's not important.

I hung up on him after he told me I needed take a chill pill. A Monday, another scheduled knee surgery that is going to set me back three weeks, and a guy for who can't even come close to being honest with me because he's a chicken shit.

It's shaping up to be a stellar week. Thank God for pain meds.

As someone who thoroughly enjoys razzing you and giving you a hard time, I have got to say . . .

I'm sorry. I'm sorry you have to put up with knee surgery, and I'm even more sorry you have to put up with that kind of disrespect. You don't deserve it.

Hang in there, and do keep us posted about timing and everything. I'd be honored to bring you a meal and even a beer or two to heighten the buzz on your pain meds!

Sorry to hear about the 5th surgery. Serously. But as someone who is enjoying her own pain meds, WELCOME ABOARD!! The Train to Stoneyville leaves NOW.

Read this article from New York Magazine, I think you'll find it interesting. It's on shoes and walking and how we all walk wrong and that's why we have knee and ankle issues.

I tried to find your email on your site, do you not have it on here?

Mondays suck. Just plain suck. I'm sorry you have to go through that, but I hope the surgery helps you out. Tell Indy to pull his head out of his ass or you're getting a new friend.

Sorry to hear you have to have surgery, but I am crossing my toes that it helps, a lot.

As to the Indy guy, I got nothing. I don't know enough about your relationship, but I have to say I hope he mans up and stops hurting you.

I hope the surgery clears up the knee problems.. I remember reading a while ago about some surgery that grows cartilage and does (what amounts to) an autologous transplant. Same knee?

Regarding Indy, there's a surgery for that one too. It's called a hemorrhoidectomy, aka surgical removal of a pain in the butt. You're far too interesting of a person to waste time pining for guys who aren't man enough to either show reciprocation or fess up to the lack of it. I thought this was the year of the H-Train.. Time to get it rolling out of the yard.
